Norwich

The beautiful cathedral city of Norwich combines a unique blend of modern sophistication and historic interest. It enjoys over 600 medieval churches plus it has a reputation for varied theatre and cinema complexes and excellent nightlife. It has a range of excellent value properties and a thriving business economy. Dating back to Saxon times, Norwich was one of the largest towns in England in 1066. The cosmopolitan city of Norwich has a population of 125,000 and is an expanding business centre. Its thriving economy has attracted one of the largest clusters of financial and creative industries in the Eastern Region. Adjacent to the new Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and close to the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich Research Park employs over 6500 scientists and has a reputation for world class research in the field of life sciences.

Norwich is also one of top ten retail centres in the UK. It has two modern shopping centres, with Chapelfields opening recently and housing all of the top retail outlets. It also has pleasant pedestrian shopping walk ways as well as a wealth of unique speciality shops such as the famous Mustard Shop and boutiques in twisting cobbled streets. Norwich has the largest open air markets in England, with over 200 stalls, open six days a week.

Norwich also has excellent leisure facilities. The sports facilities at the University of East Anglia are available to the public and the city has a well-supported league football club, Norwich City. The city is blessed with many parks, open spaces and riversidewalks beside the River Wensum and Yare.
